Presenter Bio:  Paul is an accredited Supervisor and Psychotherapist with the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. Paul works with individuals, couples, children and groups. For almost 10 years Paul has worked within the student counselling service of Cork Institute of Technology and has previously worked as a child psychotherapist with the Children at Risk Ireland Foundation. He has also worked with Schizophrenia Ireland. Paul has a broad integrative, client centred humanistic philosophy with a strong psychodynamic and relational depth lens. He has a wealth of experience in risk management in complicated cases involving interagency work. 

 

Outline: This presentation will explore aspects within Psychotherapy practice that present various issues of risk for client, practitioner and the profession. Risk can be the ever present theme that we psychotherapists seldom want to acknowledge and explore. Within this presentation we will explore some of the better known and lesser known issues of risk that are present within our work with clients. The presentation will be theory light in nature and instead focusing on the work as experienced and applied within the field of practice of the presenter etal.

This Workshop will be followed by the IACP Southern Regional Committe AGM from 4:30pm until 6:30pm.
