WNWRC - Introduction To Understanding The Mental Health Of And Working With LGBTQ+ Youth


Presenters Bio:

James is a qualified  accredited counsellor and psychotherapist with the IACP. He is also a registered member of the WPATH/EPATH.He works with individuals, aged 11+, relationships and families. He provides specialist support in the areas of gender, sexuality, and neurodiversity.

James is committed to working with the LGBTQ+ community and their families and adopts an integrative approach. James has facilitated workshops for parents of LGBTQ+ youth and for therapists working with LGBTQ+ people. James has recently been accepted onto an MSc in Adolescent psychotherapy.


Workshop Outline: 

This workshop is designed to provide therapists with an understanding of the unique mental health needs of LGBTQ youth. Participants will gain insight into how to create a safe and inclusive environment for LGBTQ youth, learn about risk factors that can lead to poor mental health outcomes, and explore evidence-based strategies for providing effective care. Attendees will leave with practical skills they can use in their practice immediately.
