Presenters Bio:

Eoin, worked in the areas of Intellectual Disability, Addiction Counselling, Lecturing/Training, & CBT Private Practice. He is  currently focusing attention on understanding the problems  faced by autistic adults, & their specific therapeutic needs.


Workshop Outline:

Increased awareness and comfort with this important area of client diversity.

• Greater familiarity with learning resources in this area.Workshop structure Morning session – What does being autistic mean?

(PowerPoint presentation with breakout discussions and Q&A)

• Current thinking about autism – myths, terminology, etc

• The growing importance of the neurodiversity perspective in therapy

• Discussion around participants’ current experience, concerns & ideas in this area.

• Autistic differences in social information-processing, etc
