SRC - Working with Shame in the Counselling Room
Presenters Bio:
Fegus is a full-time Counsellor. His previous career was in Mechanical Engineering and training. out with friends. I believe the best qualities in Counselling are not in our training and Counselling skills but our love, respect and genuine interest and value we show to our clients. I benefit greatly from the nurturing presence of a spiritual connection as a personal support to my practice.
Workshop Outline:
Shame is often present in the counselling room and can be a significant contributor to many of the presenting issues of our clients. It is a topic on which Fergus has done considerable research and is an integral part of the workshops he presents on emotional and sexual health.
Fergus's own "shame story" has taken him on an on-going journey of healing and a desire to give hope and comfort to his clients. Fergus will use a combination of PowerPoint Presentation, Client Stories, Discussion Groups and Feedback across this workshop. We will examine what Shame is and associated emotions, how Shame affects men and women, how it affects our way of being and our behaviour and how it might present in therapy. The outcomes will be a better understanding of what shame is and how it might manifest in the lives of our clients as well as some therapeutic approaches to dealing with shame.
CPD Certs will be emailed to participants after attendance at the Event
The Zoom Link and Password for the event will be sent at least a day in advance of the Event
