Present: A Network Evening - Talbot Grove 

 

Presenters Bio: Dolores Tiernan has over 20 years’ experience as an addiction counsellor and programme administrator, having trained with the Hazelden International Addiction Programme. She commenced her counselling career in 1998 as Aftercare Co-ordinator in the Rutland Centre, Dublin, and served as Deputy Director in Talbot Grove (2002-2010) and Senior Addiction Counsellor with the Health Service Executive (HSE) in Kerry (2010-2019). An advocate of an holistic and client-centred approach to the treatment of addiction disorders, Dolores’ work at Talbot Grove involves the continuing evolution of the recovery programmes based on the outcomes of new evidence-based research.

 

Network Outline: Dolores will give an overview of Talbot Grove, which was established in 1993 with the aim of treating people with addictions and other related issues. All treatments are broadly based on a combination of the Minnesota Model of Addiction Treatment and the 12 Step Approach originally developed by Alcoholics Anonymous (AA).
