Present the
\"Southern Region AGM\"
Pre-AGM Presentation- Risk Management and Child Protection in the Context of Therapy with Adults with a History of Childhood Abuse.
Time: 2:00pm - 4:00pm
Presenter: Dr Tom McGrath, CPsychol, AFBPsS,
Presenter Bio: Dr Tom McGrath has worked with adult victims of child abuse for over 20 years and has been a Director of Counselling with the NCS service since its inception in Sept 2000. Recently he was part of an NCS national working group which drafted guidelines for counsellor/therapists within the NCS dealing with Child Protection risk management issues relating to historical abuse. The resultant guidelines try to strike a balance between respect for client self-determination, privacy and informed consent and the particular focus in Children First 2011 on identifying and reporting all past perpetrators of abuse. Children First 2011 is expected to be placed on a statutory footing in the near future.
Workshop Outline: Dr McGrath\'s presentation will be of interest to Counsellors, Psychotherapists and Supervisors, keen to ensure that their practice is in full compliance with Children First 2011 and any new statutory instrument which is to follow.

The Southern Regional Committee looks forward to meeting old friends and new members.
Welcome to the Fold! This year at the AGM we will take the opportunity to acknowledge and welcome all those members from the region who have become accredited in the last 12 months. This is a great chance to meet your peers, network with colleagues and catch up with old friends.
Share your ideas! If you have ideas for workshops or events you\'d like to see happening, we\'d love to hear from you.
Join the Crew! We especially want to encourage members to join the committee and get involved in making things happen in the region. Whether you are accredited or working towards accreditation just get in touch with Chairperson Eliz Egan and come along to the AGM. All Aboard!
CPD certificates will be emailed to registered participants after attendance at the AGM/Speaker.
