Presenter Bio
:  Eoin\'s professional training began with an Honours Degree in Psychology from UCD He subsequently trained as a Counselling Psychologist receiving his Masters from UCC in 2000. Following this he trained as a Clinical Psychologist receiving his Doctorate from TCD in 2005. Eoin has worked within the public Adult Mental Health Service at both community and inpatient psychiatric level and also runs a private practice. Eoin has worked with suicidal patients within these services as a psychologist, therapist and within a Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Program. Eoin is currently coordinator of the North Dublin DBT Service. Eoin is also the clinical lead on the North Dublin CAMS suicide and assessment treatment service. These programs are specifically designed to treat individuals who present with varying levels of self harm and sucidality. Eoin is an Honorary Tutor on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology TCD. Eoin has been involved in teaching and training professional counsellors, therapists and psychologists for over 10 years.

Outline: 1.To explore the psychology of suicidality 2. To provide a space to discuss and consider the challenges of working with suicidal people.3. To discuss various assessment and treatment approaches and explore this in sufficient detail as to be able to leave with some practically useful material.  This will involve focusing on a particular assessment treatment that has evolved over the last 25 years., i.e., the Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidalithy (CAMS) 4. The format will be varied,utilising teaching, discussion and role play

Training Level: Advanced. 

This Workshop will be followed by the IACP Northern Ireland Regional Committe AGM from 4:30pm until 6:30pm.
