Presenter
:  Dr. Brendan Byrne has taken a particular interest in the subject of bullying behaviour and has carried out extensive researchin this area. He is an accredited member of the IACP. His work as a psychotherapist has brought him in contact with people who have been bullied in the workplace. He was a member of the Goverment Working Party, which drew up guidelines for Primary and Post Primary schools on countering bullying behaviour. He has been invited to present workshops on the subject of bullying behaviour at conferences in Ireland, Europe, India & Australia. 

Outline: Bullying has been described as \"the breaking down of a person\". This worksop will focus on the role of the counsellor in helping the client to repair the damage caused by bullying. The focus will be on: Risk Factors/Vulnerability-personal & situational. The effects of bullying-short term & long term. Strategies for dealing with bullying. The Law with regard to Harassment, Sexual Harassment & Bullying. The worksop will consist of short information inputs/case studies/discussion. The counselling experiences of participants in relation to bullying will be central. The approach will be interactive.
