Present a workshop entitled:
\"Healing Families Anxiety”
Presenter Bio: Dr Fergus Heffernan joined the Irish Defence forces straight from school, as a young recruit on the curragh Camp. He served for six months Tour of Duty in the Lebanon, while he was almost still a child. Fergus has Bsc in Clinical Psychology and a MSc in Family Therapies and Msc in Cellular Molecular Biology and a PhD in Bio Psychology. Fergus has spent most of his working life, working in some of the most distressed areas on the planet, either dealing with trauma with soldiers in Battleground Operations, from Afghanistan to Iraq, to East Timor, to Central Africa to Bosnia. Working with Victims of Genocide in Rwanda, or victims of Natural Disasters in distressed areas of the world affected by hurricanes, famine, earthquakes, or Tsunamis, heading up Psychological distress response teams. Fergus is a visiting Professor at many universities around the world and is much sought after as a speaker at events and Conferences all over the world. Fergus would say his greatest privilege has not being the educational qualifications, or the worldwide travel, but rather the privalege of watching the humam spirt at work, protecting people in the darkest moments of their lives, in the dark places on the planet and gives them a purpose to stay going in life.
Outline: Anxiety and how it affects the Family system is a very misunderstood and poorly reserached area. Families have never lived in such anxious times. This workshop looks at how we, as children at a very young age create roles to help us survive within the dynamics of the family system. These creations learned in childhood are often high in anxiety and can have a major negative impact on the life span of that individual. The workshop looks at the whole of Cellular Memories, where they come from and how to manage them. The day is very experiential and subsequently quite challenging. The day also looks at the use of technology and the impact on family Systems.
Training Level: All Levels
CPD certificates will be emailed to participants after attendance at the Workshop.
