The Dublin Regional Committee
Present a workshop entitled:
\"Working with Difficult Clients\"
Presenter Bio: Dr Denise Mullen (Psy.D, MIACP) is a consultant psychologist with experience in a wide range of settings including individual and group therapy, in-patient treatment, university lecturing and workshop presentations. She has studied extensively in the areas of psychodynamic and object relations theories, developmental psychology and attachment theory. With 25 years combined clinical practice experience, in both California and Ireland, Dr Mullen recognises the need for therapist collaboration.
Workshop Outline: This workshop offers the opportunity to understand the underlying pathology of this client population through a combination of theory and case studies. It can be difficult to remain focused when we encounter the distortions and chaos presenting with borderline individuals, so Denise gives practical methods for containment and management of client emotion, and regulation of self-esteem.You will learn the attachment and bonding needs of BPD clients, their identity and security issues as well as transference and counter-transference issues.
Denise will share numerous and contrasting case studies from her specialised work in this area. There will be plenty of opportunity for interaction and discussion.
Training Level: Intermediate
CPD certificates will be emailed to participants after attendance at the Workshop.
