MRC - Introductory Workshop on the situation for refugees and asylum seekers in Ireland
Presenter's Bio:
Imelda Graham holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Equality Studies; Qualifications in Learning, development, training, strategic development encompassing international and historic issues; many years experience in providing targeted workshops; author of textbooks, including ‘Realising Potential’, covering equality and diversity issues for early years educators; lived experience working directly with refugees for 2 years in Greece; CPD on Trauma, Refugee issues.
Event Outline:
This workshop will introduce attendees to the context and issues regarding refugees in Ireland. It will cover:
- The context for refugee movements in recent years
- The current position worldwide
- Possible Future internationally
- Common ACE’s for families and children as refugees
- The experiences of refugees, with real life stories and case studies
- The situation in Ireland
- Working directly with refugees: some communication and cultural issues
- Supports provided to children and adults in Ireland
CPD Certs will be emailed to participants after attendance at the Event
