Workshop Outline:
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an 8 phased, 3-pronged psychotherapeutic intervention that was originally designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. This workshop, ‘An Introduction to EMDR’, will explore the historical roots of EMDR, utilise the Adaptive Information Processing theory as a means of illustrating the EMDR process and briefly walk you through each of the phases. The presenters will use case studies and interactive processes in order to provide an experiential introduction to EMDR.
